ABOUT MIRIAM

Miriam Walker-Khan is a sports reporter, presenter and writer. She worked at BBC Sport for nearly six years, from a trainee to a senior reporter for younger audiences and digital platforms, as well as reporting on Match of the Day, Football Focus, MOTDx and being a quarter of the Question of Sport podcast. She has also freelanced for Premier League Productions, COPA90 and is SEASON zine's editor. Miriam has written features for the New York Times, Guardian Opinion, Dazed and gal-dem magazine. In 2021, she was nominated for the Ones to Watch (on-air) Sports Journalism Association award. She was the only sports journalist to be nominated for the Outstanding Young Journalist award at the Asian Media Awards in 2018 and 2019.


In her time at the BBC she also worked for Newsround, the World Service and BBC Africa, was co-Chair of BBC Sport’s BAME Advisory Group and became the first BBC Sport representative to get a place on the BBC News Next Generation Panel. In 2020 and 2021 she was BBC Sport's Editorial Lead for Black History Month.
